By founding and organizing own distribution companies in Canada, Australia, Great Britain, South Africa, France, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands, Dauphin has created local presence all over the world. Many other countries are served by licence holders or local representatives.

Besides to the production site in Germany, there are further production plants in the USA and Switzerland which are fully owned by the “Holding” and which manufacture selected products. Furthermore, there are shares of licence holders in Spain and South Africa.

Dauphin has a strong market position in Germany, however the export share of about 35% exceeds the average export share of the chair sector significantly. An additional 14% is achieved by the foreign subsidiaries with own local manufacturing plants (e.g. USA, South Africa, Spain). Therefore, the total share of “international sales worldwide” amount to approx. 50 %. Approx. 2,500 chairs are daily manufactured in our own production plants, thereof about 1,900 in Offenhausen.

As part of a deliberate policy of internationalisation, the group intends to further consolidate the international position of its various brands, both in European countries and overseas. The emphasis is put on the expansion of the East European market by establishing new subsidiaries and on the Asian-Pacific front by increasing the number of license partners.
